The Self-Love Syllabus presents

THE SELF-LOVE SYLLABUS Summer Intensive

The Self-Love Syllabus gives girls a structured, professionally led experience for girls ages 12 to 15. Not a camp. Not therapy. Something rarer: a space where she gets to know herself.

5

intentionally small

Built for the girl who is doing fine on the outside and quietly unsure on the inside.

The Self-Love Syllabus Summer Intensive gives girls a structured, honest five-day experience to understand their emotions, quiet the inner critic, and build real confidence from within.

Guided by a Licensed Professional Counselor who spent years sitting with girls and listening to what they actually need, this is the kind of inner work school doesn't teach but life absolutely requires.

"There is no program like this in Atlanta for this age group. Nowhere else are you getting clinical depth, small-group intimacy, and a framework this intentional, all in one week."

WHO IS LEADING THIS

Karlyn Benn

Karlyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor, former educator, and founder of Love Is The Verb, a Georgia-based educational wellness company. She created The Self-Love Syllabus after years of listening to what girls were actually carrying, and building a curriculum that speaks directly to it.

She doesn't have to be struggling to benefit from this.

  • She tends to be hard on herself and doesn't quite know how to stop
  • She struggles with comparison, self-doubt, or people-pleasing
  • She has big emotions and isn't always sure what to do with them
  • She's confident in some areas but quietly unsure in others
  • She's at a point where knowing herself better would change everything

"Not a camp. Not therapy. Something in between."

The summer before 8th grade, or between middle and high school, is one of the most critical seasons in a girl's development. She is still forming her identity. A program that reaches her now, and gives her language for her emotions and her worth, has an impact that lasts for years.

Five days. Real conversation. Skills that actually stick.

Monday
Understanding Emotions & Inner Experience
She learns to notice and name what's happening inside before being asked to change anything.
Tuesday
The Inner Voice & Self-Compassion
She explores how she talks to herself and begins practicing a kinder relationship with her own mind.
Wednesday
Emotional Intelligence & Regulation
She learns the difference between feeling an emotion and reacting to it — body messages, body criticism, and what it means to respond rather than react.
Thursday
Confidence, Self-Trust & Boundaries
She learns that confidence isn't performance. It's trusting herself and protecting what matters to her.
Friday
Gratitude, Strengths & Showcase
She reflects on her growth, names her strengths, and shares what she's learned in her own way.

Daily Schedule

Monday – Thursday
9:00am – 4:00pm
Friday
9:00am – 1:30pm
Each day moves between teaching, journaling, discussion, and hands-on activities. It never feels like school.

WHAT SHE TAKES HOME

A personal workbook she keeps. Real tools for managing emotions, setting limits, and trusting herself. Language for what she feels. And a clearer sense of who she is beyond what everyone else thinks.

Inner skills that school doesn't teach but life absolutely requires.

Emotional Awareness
Language for what she's feeling, and where she feels it in her body.
Self-Compassion
How to respond to herself instead of judging herself, especially when things feel hard.
Emotional Regulation
Practical tools to pause, process, and respond to big emotions without shutting down.
Confidence & Self-Trust
Understanding that confidence is built from the inside, not earned from others' opinions.
Boundaries
How to recognize what she needs, communicate it clearly, and honor herself in the process.
Self-Advocacy
Speaking up for herself with clarity, courage, and a grounded sense of her own worth.
The clinical difference

Every activity, prompt, and conversation in this program is grounded in a research-informed social-emotional learning framework developed by a Licensed Professional Counselor. This is not a confidence workshop built from inspiration. It is a structured developmental experience built from expertise.

Why the cohort is small

Real growth happens in rooms where every girl feels seen. A group of 12 to 15 allows the facilitator to go deep, respond to what's actually in the room, and create the kind of safety this work requires. Small is intentional.

In their own words.

"I didn't think I would like it at first. I really didn't but I'm so glad I got picked for it because I feel like I've grown since I've been in this group. I'm so thankful I was able to be a part of it."

R.M., Participant

"This girl group helped me let out my feelings instead of bottling them up. I started to focus on myself and eat regularly. I don't pass out anymore because of the lack of eating. I am more confident in myself. This group helped me so much."

ONE LAST THING

She is already enough. This week helps her know it.

Most programs teach girls to do more, achieve more, perform more. This one asks her to slow down and understand herself first. That is a rarer gift.
